An ageless journey through life…

Attorney – Teacher – Artist – Entrepreneur

Life at its best is a journey on the scenic route.

My journey has been filled with many twists and turns – some voluntary,
some involuntary and some simply accidental. Whenever I got lost along
the way, I persevered and said I was taking ” the scenic route,” doing my best
where I was at. There may have been a lot of wrong turns in my life, but I have
always found the right route eventually. Once in a blue moon eclipse I found
the route I chose was perfect, and it lead me happily to this ScenicRouteOfLife
endeavor. So it is the older I get, the more I appreciate the view along the
scenic route with the sun and the moon as my guides.

Inspiration

“As an artist, I wanted to give my daughter a piece of my art for her wedding present.  So I decided to make her a Garment Traveler for her wedding dress.  For the fabric I chose a silk, antique Japanese Maru Obi previously used in 1920 for a wedding in Japan.  An obi was chosen, because when very young I fell in love with the culture and clothing of Japan and other Asian countries from reading books with black and white photos in them.  Over time the photos in the books gained some color.  Eventually photos were published in full color at which time I could see the obis and other clothing in their full glory.   Given the obi’s measurements were 12 inches wide by 14 feet long, I designed my own pattern for the bag.  Rather than use it for storing her wedding dress, my daughter uses it for all her travels, because “it is too beautiful to hide in my closet.”  Later I made a matching Weekend Traveler for her.  Whenever she travels, she is asked where she purchased her beautiful luggage”.
